Jeffery Filley was sentenced to 73 months for illegal drug offenses

Jeffrey Filley was sentenced in Leavenworth County District Court to 73 months with the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Filley was charged following a Sept. 19, 2015 traffic stop in Leavenworth.  After making the traffic stop, a Leavenworth police officer determined that Filley's driver's license had been revoked. Filley was taken into custody.

After observing an open container of alcohol, officers searched Filley's vehicle. Police found a large amount of methamphetamine and several items associated with weighing and packaging controlled substances.

Jordan Hardgrove sentenced to firing handgun into an occupied dwelling

Jordan Hargrove was sentenced in Leavenworth County District Court for criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling.   Leavenworth officers were informed in November of 2015 of shots being fired.  When they arrived on the scene, they saw Mr. Hargrove drop the handgun and run.

Justin Holtsclaw is sentenced to more than two years for burglary and attempted escape

  • Justin M. Holtsclaw been sentenced to more than two years in prison for committing burglary in Lansing and later trying to escape from the Leavenworth County Jail.  Mr. Holtsclaw was  sentenced in Leavenworth County District Court for charges of attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor theft, burglary and attempted aggravated escape from custody.
    The burglary and theft charges stem from a May 9 incident in Lansing. The attempted escape took place July 16.

April Hawkins sentenced for felony theft conviction

April L. Hawkins has been sentenced to probation for stealing more than $5,000 worth of jewelry while working as a caregiver.
